joining with same ip???

Heey guys..
Today i was playing ET (as always haha) and i asked my bro to connect..
When he tried to connect i coulnd't play anymore..
So i closed my ET and then he could play..
Does someone know why that is? and how my bro and I can play together on Panini*server?

done some research for ya, you need a switch/router for it to work

you both cant play at same time untill you have one

only need a cheap one tbh for it to work

How are you connecting exactly? 2 separate computers? What do you connect through...router, switch, what?

1 IP should be no issues. Anytime you connect through a router the game only sees 1 IP anyways, your public IP. A switch, if no router involved, will either have to use ICS or have multiple leased IP addresses for each system to connect at the same time anyhow.

A duplicate GUID should show up in console as a warning/error/pb problem.

we use 2 laptops with wireless internet.. and we have a router..
i don't know much about it xD i have to ask my bro i think i will let him read this.. maybe he knows what to do with the infomation you gave guys..
